The DEX Labs engineering team has been working on a number of features over the past month, many of which will be included in the release used for the upcoming testnet competition.

One-click trading

This is a feature now in wide use across many decentralized applications, particularly trading platforms where users wish to sign many messages during a single session, quickly โ€“ and wallet confirmation pop-ups are too cumbersome. This feature is always optional, users will be able to choose when, and whether, to enable this.

Portfolio page

This addition to the application UI gives traders more insight into their trade history, fees paid, and order history. It also includes information about updates to their strategies โ€“ such as deposits and withdrawals โ€“ information about their trade mining history, as well as data relating to any ADL or liquidation events they have been involved in. This data is always available via the transaction log, and the portfolio page brings it to a simple, easy-to-use interface.

Walletless sign-in

This integration, when complete, will enable users without existing Ethereum wallets to quickly create and fund a wallet using a straightforward and secure third-party service if they choose.

Bugfixes and UI improvements

Alongside an internal team-wide testnet trading competition (and bug hunt), a number of UI issues have been identified and resolved, particularly on the mobile view. DerivaDEX currently enables a fully-featured mobile interface for users accessing the exchange from mobile.

Library and dependency updates

Some important maintenance work has also been undertaken, including upgrades to the tooling used to handle wallet onboarding. These updates pave the way to additional UX work around onboarding, including walletless onboarding options.

Ongoing new product development

A few additional features are still in active development, including both trading and onboarding products. While the timeline for these to be included in a release cut is not set, these products expand the types of trading opportunities available to users, as well as have the potential to reduce onboarding friction and improve the overall user experience of DerivaDEX.

Preparation for public testnet competition in October

The upcoming testnet competition will be the first public competition that requires users to go through the same onboarding process that is expected to be implemented for mainnet user onboarding. This will enable all system participants to experience, provide feedback on, and identify issues with the onboarding process in addition to trading and other platform features, such as the stats and explorer pages.
